MP, who were bowled out at the stroke of tea for 337, took 57 runs lead. By the end of the third day's play, Hyderabad recovered from a disastrous start (1-2) to wipe out the deficit on the last ball of the day.

Abbas Ali (77; 196m, 156b, 10x4, 1x6) departed early but by then he had stood ground for a fourth wicket stand worth 116 runs with Bundela, who was also involved in a 78-run stand with Chandrakant Pandit (37).

In the event, Kanwaljit also claimed his 50th wicket of the season in the presence of National selectors -- Ashok Malhotra, Madan Lal and Anil Deshpande.
