According to Aarey sub-division police, the girl who was under the influence of liquor came to the police station at 4 am to file her complaint. She stated that she was beaten up and raped by an autorickshaw driver while on her way to meet her boyfriend between 12.30-3.30 am. However, she could not recall the features of her attacker.

The police have admitted the girl, who claimed to be a maid servant, at Oshiwara Nursing Home where she is undergoing treatment. The report on her medical examination is awaited.

Investigations have revealed that the girl had a date with her boyfriend at Goregoan late in the evening. However, for unknown reasons she could not meet him at the place of rendezvous.

The girl informed the police that an unidentified rickshaw driver accosted her and promised to help locate her boyfriend adding that he drove her to an isolated spot and beat her before committing the crime. Shereceived injuries on her right cheek during the attack. Investigations have revealed that she was a resident of Jaisingh Ratna Nagar at Goregoan (east).

No arrests were made while further investigations are on.
