Woman seriously injured after being hit by stone

SURAT, April 12: Even as the police in neighbouring Maharashtra are grappling with the menace of miscreants throwing stones at passing trains, an old woman in Gujarat was seriously injured when she was hit by a stone.

The victim, who was travelling in a private luxury bus fell unconscious, when she was hit by the stone between Talasari and Bhilad in the State on Saturday night. The woman was hit on the temple. The bus was on its way to Bhavnagar from Vasai.

A resident of Mahuva taluka of Bhavnagar district, the victim Emnaben Musabhai Meman, accompanied by her other family members was on way to attend a marriage, when the incident happened. The 60-year-old was later admitted to the New Civil Hospital of Surat.
