Keegan for Fulham

LONDON: Kevin Keegan, who is presently juggling two jobs as England and Fulham coach, says he is not going to walk out on the second division London club and turn all his time to the national team.

Fulham clinched promotion to first division yesterday prompting suggestions that former Newcastle boss Keegan might be prepared to change his mind and take on the national team role next season.

Keegan took over the England job from the sacked Glenn Hoddle in February but said he would only be in charge for four matches, ending after a European Championship qualifier against Bulgaria in June. He made it clear he wanted to honour his Fulham contract which ends in June 2000.

Ronaldo positive MILAN: Ronaldo, called up to play for Brazil for the first time since the World Cup final, says he hopes to turn around his disappointing season by playing the Copa America in July.

Ronaldo was included in the Brazil side on Tuesday to meet his former club Barcelona at their Camp Nou Stadium ina friendly on April 28. The Inter Milan player, has only recently recovered from a knee injury that has plagued his season. ``I can now put back on the jersey I have missed so much,'' he said.

Owen injured

LIVERPOOL: Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier's fading hopes of a place in next season's UEFA Cup will almost certainly have vanished if his worst fears surrounding Michael Owen are confirmed this week. Club and country will be waiting with bated breath for news of the damage to Owen's hamstring sustained in Monday night's goalless draw against Leeds.

If a scan confirms tendon trouble then Liverpool could be without their star striker for the rest of the season, as well as missing England's friendly against Hungary on April 28.
