Slump spurs Healy

REUTERS
Brisbane, april 14: Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy ended speculation he would retire from international cricket when he arrived in Brisbane from the West Indies today. While he admitted his form in the Caribbean was well below his usual high standard, Healy told reporters the slump had motivated him to continue playing at Test level.

``It was an unproductive tour for me with the gloves and when you are under that pressure, you have to call on all of your experience,'' Healy said.

Healy was under pressure to retain his spot for the fourth Test in Antigua with indifferent form and calf muscle problems prompting speculation he would be replaced by Australian One-day 'keeper Adam Gilchrist, who was callled to the Caribbean early.

Dale to fly home
ST GEORGE'S: Australian medium-pacer Adam Dale will miss the One-Day International series against the West Indies because of pneumonia. Dale, 29, is scheduled to fly from St Vincent this week to Australia. Team officials hope the Queenslanderwill be fully recovered in time for World Cup beginning in England on May 14.
