SURAT, April 15: Four minor girls, all between 12 and 16 years of age, have been reported missing since Wednesday afternoon according to a case registered on Thursday morning in the Salabatpura police station. Usha Raju Shah (16), Rekha Pravin Patel (15), Urmila Manu Patel and one Kamu (12), all friends from Sangam Tekri slum outside Sahara Darwaja, were last seen on Wednesday afternoon. After searching the foursome for a day, Raju Jayanti Shah, a diamond worker by profession, lodged a police complaint on Thursday afternoon.According to the police, who have already interrogated the parents of the four girls, no explanation has been found for the disappearance. Police feel the girls may have gone somewhere on their own and have, at least for the moment, ruled out kidnapping. All four girls study in a Nagar Prathamik School in the area and worked as household maids. Providing details about the girls, the Salabatpura police stated that Usha was wearing a black punjabi dress when last seen and has `om' tattooed on her right arm. Rekha is slightly built and was wearing a white shirt and red trousers. Urmila was wearing a black skirt and blouse while Kamu, who is four feet tall and dark, was wearing a black skirt.
