JD seeks CBI probe into Paswan attack

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, APRIL 16: The Janata Dal on Friday sought a CBI inquiry into the "attempt to murder" party leader Ram Vilas Paswan in Bihar last week.

In a letter to President K R Narayanan, JD secretary general Bapu Kaldate said though Paswan's vehicle `vikas rath' was attacked on April 10, the State Government had not taken any action so far.

He claimed that the law and order situation in the State had worsened and more cases of political murders and attempts to murder were coming to light.

Kaldate also requested the President to direct the Union Home Minister to take serious note of the situation in Bihar and take immediate remedial action including a CBI inquiry.
