Bridge Academy
The Mumbai Sports and Bridge Association's newly built Bridge Academy at the Andheri Sports Complex will be inaugurated on Sunday, April 18 at 8.30 p.m. by Ex-Additional Municipal Commissioner S D Joshi.

The All-India Ladies Bridge Championship to be played from April 29 to May 2 will be the first event to be held at the above venue.

Air-India golf
A record 165 golfers will take part in the Air-India Invitational golf tournament to be held at the US Club, Mumbai, on April 17.

Some of the leading personalities taking part in the competition are: Kapil Dev, Madan Lal,, Roger Binny, Ashok Mankad and Hanumant Singh. Ten ladies are also playing in the tournament

Camp notes

  • The Khar Gymkhana will set up the annual tennis clinic for tournament players and beginners from May 1. Ex-Davis Cupper and Arjuna awardee Asif Ismail will be the coaching consultant.

    Application forms are available at the Gymkhana Office and tennis department from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00a.m. and from 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.

  • The National School of Combat Arts (NSCA), Mumbai, will organise a youth and confidence building camp this summer especially for children from 5 to 17 years. For further details contact Tel: 373 0913 and 496 6301.

  • The St Thomas High School, Sports Talent Centre's annual camp will be held from April 20 to May 8 for boys and girls below 17 years at the St Pius College (seminary) ground, Goregaon (East). The disciplines include football, athletics, basketball and volleyball.

    The inauguration will be held on April 20 at 5.00 p.m. ENS
