Nepal XI beat DSA XI

NEW DELHI, April 16: Struck by a goal deficit, Punjab National Bank came from behind to hold Central Secretariat 1-1 and salvage a point in the Dr BR Ambedkar football tournament.

Central Sectt took the lead in 21st minute through striker Sanjeev Marwah's shot from the left. Bhupinder Thakur found the equaliser for the bankmen in the 18th minute of the second half. Central Sectt kept pressuring for more goals but an alert PNB defense denied them the chances. Earlier, FCI (North Zone) thrashed DESU by 5-1. DESU took the lead in the 13th minute through Aslam but FCI fought back through TS Bisht (3) and BS Rawat (2).

The matches beween Northern Railway and CISF and FCI (HQ) vs Telcom (MTNL) were cancelled due to an exhibition match between DSA XI and Nepal XI. The Nepal side, which is on its way to Goa to take part in SAF football, beat the local team 3-0. Naresh Joshi (2) and Sukra Taman were the scorers.
