KDMC engineer caught red-handed accepting bribe

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, APRIL 20: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a junior engineer of the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC)'s sewerage management department accepting a bribe from a builder's employee at Dombivli today. An offence has been registered against the official, Dhondiba G Katkar.

Tavde tipped off the ACB, which laid a trap. However, the meeting was called off as Katkar got suspicious. He then agreed to meet Tavde in a restaurant at Shivaji Chowk in Kalyan. The ACB team, comprising deputy superintendent Jabir Sheikh and inspectors Ashok Jagtap, C N Thorat and P G Suikar, nabbed Katkar even as Tavde was handing him the marked notes. The ACB also raided the sewerage department, and a detailed search was on at the time of going to press.
