IAF down Century in DDCA League

NEW DELHI, April 20: An all-round performance by TC Pandey helped Indian Air Force beat Century Club by 78 runs in a A-II Division match of the DDCA.

Batting first, IAF set a target of 214 runs for victory in 40 overs. IAF batsman Updhayay missed half century by two runs. TC Pandey made 32 while Mohanty and Asif Khan scored 29 and 28 runs, respectively. Century's Rakesh Singh claimed three wickets while Kanhaiya Lal Rana took two.

Chasing the total, Century Club were bundled out at 135 in 29.5 overs. Ram Prakash (36) and Ranjit Mehra (31) were the main scorers for the Century. TC Pandey claimed three wickets while Prashant and Laxmikant claimed two each.In another match, Syndicate Bank beat Spuer Star Club by 57 runs while Universal Club defeated Delhi Telecom by six wickets.

Brief scores: IAF: 213/9 in 40 overs (Upadhyay 48, TC Pandey 32, Mohanty 29, Asif Khan 28, Reddy 17, Harish Bhaskar 16, Rakesh Singh 3/42, Kanhaiya Lal Rana 2/26) beat Century Club: 135 in 29.5 overs (Ram Prakash 36, Ranjit Mehra 31, Rakesh Singh 21, TC Pandey 3/28, Prashant 2/17, Laxmikant 2/30).

Syndicate Bank: 222/7 in 35 overs (Rajeev 46, Dalip Kumar 71, Dharamveer 32, Sunil2/30, Chetan Sharma 2/42, Sandeep Sharma 2/43) beat Super Star: 165 for 9 (Deepak Sharma 47, Sunny 31, Pritpal Singh 27, Daljeet Singh 20, Rajeev 4/31).

Delhi Telecom: 190/9 in 35 overs (Rakesh Kumar 54, Rajender Ahir 60, Sushil Sharma 38, Manoj 3/28, Mehtab 2/31) lost to Universal Club: 191/4 (Sanjeev 51, mehtab Saleen 46 no, Vishal 40, Sandeep Chatterjee 27, Tara Singh 2/20).
