NEW DELHI, April 20: Sahara Airlines, helped by some gritty knocks by Deepak Bhatnagar, Ravi Kant, Sunil Rawat and Raman Ghai, beat Oil and Natural Gas Corporation by three wickets and make it to the semi-finals of the all-India Om Nath Sood Memorial cricket tournament.Chasing a modest 210 for victory, Sahara made 213 for seven in 38.4 overs. Though Sahara failed to get a decent start, losing their first wicket at the score of 19, they steadied through Amar Singh and Deepak Bhatnagar. Yet, they lost two quick wickets to be at 76 for three but the middle order worked well for them as they overhauld ONGC total without much hiccups.
Earlier, put in to bat, ONGC were in dire straits as they lost both the openers with just two runs on the board. But Vadhera and Manoj Mudgal repaired the damage, adding 69 runs for the third wickets. Vadhera struck 44 while Mudgal made 38. Later, Rizwan Samshad, Amit Sharma, who remained unbeaten on 44, and Rahul Sangvi helped ONGC total attain some respectively.
KN Colts win: K.N. Colts entered the quarter-finals of the Trans Yamuna Cricket Association beating Rohtak Road Gymkhana by two wickets in the two-day game at the Yamuna Sports Complex.
Batting first, RR Gymkhana made 184 with Chetan Sharma topscoring (82). Ajay Sharma Jr captured five wickets giving away 23 runs in 18 overs. In reply, KN Colts made 188 losing eight wickets.
