PUNE, APRIL 22: The State Government was fibbing to both the oustees from Urmodi valley in western Satara and the would-be beneficiaries of the 10.5 TMC capacity dam in eastern Satara, project affected persons' (PAPs) leader Bharat Patankar told The Indian Express on Wednesday. The PAPs have stalled the work on the jinxed Urmodi dam, a project which was always politically significant, since the past 26 days now, waiting for a concrete assurance from the State Government.
The PAPs have been pressing for commencement of work on water distribution network in eastern Khatav and Man talukas besides certain tangible steps to provide 13 basic amenities for rehabilitated Urmodi valley villages.
