Zahir powers Om Cricket Club to win

PUNE, April 22: Zahir Shaikh fell just four runs short of breaking into triple figures. However his brilliant knock of 96 along with a quickfire 74 coming from Aniruddha Harishchandra powered Om Cricket Club to a huge 98 runs victory over Shree Cricket Club in the PDCA's summer league cricket tournament.

Om Cricket Club posted a total of 248 for 3 with the help of these two batsmen. In reply, Shree Cricket Club were bundled out for 151 runs for the loss of seven wicket, with Zahir once again exhibiting his all-round skills claiming three wickets for 23.

In another match, Raju Kotwal's all-round performance, first with bat scoring 83 runs and later scalping five wickets for 31, enabled Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) win over Sangli Bank by 49 runs.

Bharat Electronics: 180 (Manish Shinde 61, Sagar Gangawane 25 n.o., Suresh Uttekar 3/49) bt Old Monks Club: 101 (Madhav Bapat 40, Sagar Gangawane 4/23).
Eleven Stars Club: 159 for 7 (Avinash Patil 57, Shailesh Khare 39, Dyneshwar Jagdale 3/23) lost to Azad Cricket Club: 162 (Lakshmikant Shinde 42, Ashok Ranade 25).
Gymkhana Starts Club: 154 for 8 (Snehal Gangane 37, Abhijit Abhyankar 31, Guruprasad Kapale 26, Vikas Hingne 4/25) lost to Unity Council Club: 155 for 6 (Fhiroz Khan 33, Rahul Shirsakar 27, Sanjay Shewate 26).
