Santro launched in Korea
New Delhi:
Hyundai Motors India has launched its debut product the Santro car in its motherland Korea priced at around $ 4,500. This is the first time an international product was first launched in India and then taken across to be launched in Korea, managing director of Hyundai Motors India Y S Kim said in a statement here today. The car was launched on April 15 and Hyundai Motors India had begun exporting Santro body panels, engines and transmissions to Hyundai Motors Company of Korea from March this year.

The Indian subsidiary of Hyundai Motors is expected to earn $ 10 million as foreign exchange in the very first year of its exports, the statement said. Santro, launched in Korea is available in two variants - Visto ESS and the Visto Que, it added. Visto is being manufactured by Hyundai at its Ulsan plant with the body panels and engine parts imported from its Indian subsidiary.

HLL, Stanchart launch credit card
Mumbai:
Consumer goods giant Hindustan LeverLimited (HLL) and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) today announced a strategic tie-up for the launch of a co-branded credit card in an attempt to leverage their respective core competence. The new credit card `Standard Chartered Aviance Credit Card' which will jointly be issued by Aviance Ltd (a 100 per cent subsidiary of HLL) and SCB, is targeted at Aviance Beauty Consultants and would allow them to purchase the Aviance range of beauty products, an SCB statement said here. The range of benefits that the global credit card would offer include all the benefits of a Stanchart Classic Credit Card .

OTIS Elevator show improved figures
Mumbai:
Otis Elevator Company (India) Limited has registered a 27.6 per cent increase in sales in the first quarter of the current year. This was announced by Keshub Mahindra, chairman, at the company's annual general meeting. Mahindra said that the sales were at Rs 77.38 crore in the first quarter as compared with Rs 60.64 crore in the corresponding period last year.While referring to the financial year under review, which is a nine-month period, he said that the company's income of Rs 186.78 crore was 5.7% higher was compared, on a proportionate basis, Rs 235.54 crore of the previous year for 12 months. Similarly, profit before tax for nine months was Rs 22.12 crore which is 6.5% higher than the previous year (Rs 27.70 crore for 12 months) when compared proportionately, he said. The net profit is Rs 15.32 crore for this nine-month period as against Rs 20.44 crore of the previous 12-month year, he added.

Aviation software from Blue Dart
Mumbai:
Blue Dart Aviation, India's first all jet cargo airline and a subsidiary of Blue Dart Express Limited, the cargo agents, has introduced a software application for the synchronous analysis of the digital flight data recorder (DFDR) and the cockpit voice recorder (CVR). This first of its kind software application records conversations between the pilot and air traffic controller, all relevant in-flight conditions andinstruments parameters.
