Weekend retreat/Prahlad Kakkar
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
Prahlad Kakkar has no place to go to on weekends. ``My yateemkhana is the only place where I can be. All my yateem bachchas need me there,'' he says. The modelling school he runs, and the `free food kitchen,' as he likes to call it, take up all of his time when he's not busy directing Sachin Tendulkar to say `A-ha' in the purr-fect way. ``I also have a scuba-diving school in the Lakshadweep islands where I take my children and teach them. Many of them have also become excellent teachers now,'' beams Big Daddy proudly, flinging his gold-brown lock back for emphasis. In between touring the Lakshadweep islands, making the ad films he's famous for and running a kitchen shelter, the weekend vanishes. ``I work my butt off,'' he says strongly, but with the smile intact. ``Who has the time to chart out a weekend and select a retreat? But you know, if you look at it in another way, what I do even in everyday life is so much fun. Who needs a holiday anyway?'' Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
