Rains ravage Kirin Open

AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE
IBARAKI (JAPAN), APRIL 24: Overnight leader Choi kyoung-Ju of South Korea maintained the lead as heavy rain forced organisers to scrap the third round of the Asian Tour Kirin Open Golf Tournament today.

The $830,000 tournament was shortened to 54 holes with the final round being played tomorrow, the organisers said.

Choi shot a three under par 68 on the 6,975 yard, par-71 Ibaraki Golf Club course north of Tokyo to stretch his lead to four strokes for a total of nine under par 133.

India's top pro Jeev Milkha Singh was tied on 137 with Zhang Lianwei of China, Japan's Tsuyoshi Yoneyama, Hideki Kase and Yasuharu Imano.
