TISS course in social work
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences has announced a part-time Certificate Course in Social Work for professional social work to those who cannot engage in full-time study. The one year part-time course will begin in June and end in March, and the daily duration of classes will be from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The minimum requirements are graduation in any discipline from a recognised university and a minimum age of 25 years. Priority will be given to those who are working in social work organisations. There is no upper age limit for admission. For SC/ST candidates there is a reservation of 15 per cent and 7.5 per cent of seats respectively.

Application for admission must be made on the prescribed form available at the institute for Rs 30. A registration fee of Rs 30 should accompany the completed application. Upanayanam at Chembur
The VedaRakshana Nidhi Trust will conduct a group upanayanam, the 68th in the series, on June 4 at Bal Vikhas Sangh Hall, Gandhi Maidan, Chembur. KIKU and Kids, a non-profit organisation markets goods made by handicapped people like floor cleaners, liquid soap, dusting and kitchen linen, agarbattis, stationery, decorative gift items and nursery plants.
