Anti-Sikh riot compensation hiked

NEW DELHI, April 27: Delhi Government today announced an enhanced compensation of Rs 3.50 lakh to the kin of those killed in the 1984 riots following the assassination of former premier Indira Gandhi. ``Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has issued instructions to release the enhanced amount of Rs 3.50 lakh each to all those successors (sic) whose cases have been cleared by the screening committee,'' an official release said here today.

It said the screening committee cleared 74 of the 112 pending cases for disbursement of enhanced compensation.
