Postpone law exams

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, April 27: A section of Law Faculty students of the M S University have demanded postponement of LLB (First) annual examinations on the grounds that they need a day's gap between papers as three new papers have been added from this academic year.

Student leaders Nitin Patel, Jigesh Rana, and Sharad Baria claimed in a statement on Tuesday that the situation was such that out of the 400 students 300 were considering dropping a year. They said they would submit a memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Dr Anil Kane on Wednesday.

According to the students, the number of papers has increased from six to nine. They claimed that the new papers -- Environmental Law, Women's Law and Mercantile Law -- were included on the instructions of the Bar Council of India.

Students claimed they remained silent all these days thinking they would get gaps between two papers. They alleged that their teachers had also threatened action against them if they protested.
