CHANDIGARH, May 4: Some fifty girls were awarded certificates, after they completed a six-month vocational courses conducted by the YWCA in Sector 11 today.The girls had attended the courses at YWCA in tie and dye, batic and block printing. Work done during the course -- dupattas, cushion covers and wall hangings, was also exhibited by the students.
While addressing the gathering, Kamla Sharma, chairperson, Chandigarh Social Welfare Board, apprised the students of various schemes being offered to set up their own production unit.
Meanwhile, Kamla Sharma has appealed to the Non Governmental Organisations with two year's experience after registration to contact the Social welfare office at Karuna Sadan.
