Trailer runs over police constable
In a bizarre incident, a recklessly driven trailer ran over police constable Natwarsinh on Thursday morning while he was manning traffic. According to the Panigate police, which lodged an offence against the unidentified trailer driver, the constable was manning traffic around 7.45 am near Hanuman Temple at Waghodia Chowkdi when the trailer ran over him.Polytech forms
Students who have cleared HSC (Science) stream Board examinations in October 1998 and March 1999 will get forms for admission in the M S University's Polytechnic from May 10 and May 24 between 9 am and 2 pm. While the forms cost Rs 40 each, outstation students should send money by a demand draft.
The last date for accepting forms is May 24. Meanwhile, the last date of filling forms for annual examinations in Polytechnic in July is May 17. The forms for SSC and HSC and part-time examinations are also being issued and accepted.
VMC godowns
The VMC will sell its 10 godowns in Makarpura. This was decided at the standing committee meeting held on Thursday. The members also decided to award a contract to lay an auxillary pumping station in Danteshwar at a cost of Rs 27,37,245.
Abu workshop
Nearly 40 councillors from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation are expected to take part in a three-day `Political workshop' to be organised by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Mount Abu.
NSUI demand
The National Students Union of India has demanded that the university should start a microbiology course at the graduate level.
