Sonia herds her flock onto stability plank
Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday chose "stability'' as the single issue which would decide the outcome of the coming elections, "warning'' that a fourth election in four years before 2000 A.D. will have to be faced if the BJP-led coalition returned to power.

Cong-MGP alliance may click, courtesy Pawar
Former Maharashtra chief minister Sharad Pawar is busy working out an alliance between the Congress and Goa's regional Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). The MGP which had seat adjustments with the BJP in the last Assembly elections in the State five years ago, broke up with the saffron party last year.

BSP to contest 150 LS seats -- Kanshiram
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) would contest at least 150 Lok Sabha seats in the forthcoming general elections but would not have any truck or electoral understanding with the Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in view of their "pro-rich" attitude, according BSP president Kanshiram.
