NIIT to focus on US business

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, MAY 8: NIIT, one of India's leading IT services company, hopes to garner a greater share of the software business in the US while aiming at "American prices" for its packages.

NIIT co-founder and CEO Vijay K Thadani said Indian software companies were able to grab business in the United States because the mark-up prices for its solution packages were 50 to 60% less than others in the US. But this trend is likely to change. With Indian presence getting stronger and more reliable, Indian firms like NIIT would be able to command prices close to American firms and still get business, Thadani told senior economic journalists here at a meeting. With this end in view, NIIT has inducted a leading IT professional James G Gionfriddo as its president and chief operating officer for its US operations.
