DRI arrests smuggler with 14 gold biscuits

MUMBAI, MAY 10: A resident of Ulhasnagar Mukesh Keshwani was nabbed by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) while smuggling in 14 gold biscuits weighing 10 tolas each from Dubai.

Interrogations revealed that he forged documents and obtained a passport under a different name, Vijay Verma. Keshwani, who was arrested on Sunday at the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport, Sahar has been remanded to judicial custody till May 14 by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shivaji Rao Dhumal. Advocate Neeti Pundhe, who appeared on behalf of the prosecution, alleged that the accused has flown to Dubai on several occasions. Passport entries revealed that he had also been to Singapore. Further investigations were in progress.
