Three fake CBI officers held

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, May 14: Three men posing as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers were arrested by police when trying to extort money from a businessman at Dongri on Thursday evening.

Police said the three accused, Mohuddin Sheikh (25), Pandurang Raut (45) and Ratan Mazumdar (37) approached the businessman Vasudeo Vadikar at his Dongri office on May 11, saying they wished to interrogate him in connection with a fraud case.

During `interrogation,' they told Vadikar they would not register a case if he paid Rs 25,000 as monthly `hafta' to them. Vadikar reported the matter to Dongri police, who nabbed the imposters when they came to accept the money from the trader on Thursday.
