MAVIM to set up computer centre

The Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal Limited plans to set up a training centre in computers for women in association with non-governmental organisations working in the field of women's development. NGOs who have their own place and wish to take up the training programme can send applications with details pertaining to location, experience in implementing training in computers, post training services for trainers in placement or starting their own business, fee structure and course content. NGOs can send applications to the Regional Manager, MAVIM, Griha Nirman Bhavan, mezzanine floor, Kala Nagar, Bandra (East).

Diploma in AIDS counselling

Kripa Foundation is conducting a post graduate diploma for a year in `Addiction and HIV/AIDS Counselling' in association with Christian Medical Association of India, New Delhi, in July.

Corporate training centre

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) will set up a Centre for Corporate Research and Training (CCRT) to serve as a seat of higher learning in the areas of corporate laws, economic legislations, taxation, financial management, business management, capital markets and investor protection. The centre, with a built-up area of 21,000 sq ft, has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 crore. It will be inaugurated by Chief Justice of India Dr A S Anand on May 16 at 11 am at plot no 101, Sector-15, Institutional Area, CBD Belapur.

SP protests NATO attacks

Samata Party has protested the NATO attack on Yugoslavia and in a morcha in front of the American Consulate yesterday, denounced the `imperialistic' attitude of America. Protestors shouted slogans protesting the killing of civilians in Yugoslavia, including the attack onthe Chinese embassy. The party submitted a memorandum to the Consular General demanding an immediate halt to the attack. The party also condemned America's interference into internal affairs of sovereign states. The delegation was led by Sharad Rao, general secretary of the Hind Mazdoor Kisan Panchayat.
