EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, May 13: Argument over a chit fund led to the murder of one person on Wednesday evening. Prakash Janardhan Zende (42), a resident of Zendemallah, Dehu Road was allegedly murdered by Amar Chalke because he refused to pay him his mother's share of the fund.

The police had recorded Prakash's statement late on Wednesday night and following up clues they arrested the Chalke on Thursday afternoon.

Amar's mother, Sunita Chalke, had deposited Rs 10,000 with the chit fund. According to the police, she was afraid that her son, Amar, would blow up the money on booze. She asked Prakash not to give Amar any money from her share.
