More women should join poll fray -- Gill

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
MUMBAI, May 14: Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill today appealed to all political parties to give more and adequate representation to women candidates in the forthcoming mid-term polls. Gill said the presence of more women in the Lok Sabha would check the rampant corruption and disorder. Women tend to focus on real issues that matter to the public, he said. Gill said the period that the Election Commission has got to prepare for the parliamentary elections is very less, but it is the EC's primary duty to hold efficient, free and fair elections in the country.
