Missing girl raped, murdered
The body of a four-year-old girl, reported missing from Sanjay Colony late on Thursday night, was found in a park in the Samaipur Badli area of northwest Delhi early on Friday morning. The child had been raped and strangled with her own frock, the police said. At around 7.30 pm the girl's family was busy watching a wedding procession go by. When they decided to head home, they realised that the girl was missing. After a futile search at around 11 pm, her father, a factory worker, registered a complaint with the police.

Five arrested for robbery, stabbing
Jitender, Imran, Mahinder and Prahlad of Sultanpuri and Vijender of Aligarh have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a Rs 1-lakh robbery-cum-satbbing case in the Mayapuri area of southwest Delhi. According to the police, on March 26 the five had accosted Mansukhani, an employee of the Pusa Institute, and tried to snatch his bag. When he resisted, they stabbed him and fled with the bagful of money.

3 carjackers held
With the arrest of three robbers-cum-carjackers, the police say they have cracked a case of dacoity, two cases of robbery and five cases of auto-theft. Three stolen vehicles have been recovered from their possession.A trap was laid for the gang at the Pantoon bridge in Yamuna Pushta on Monday evening and the Tata Sumo in which the accused were travelling.

During the interrogation, the Tata Sumo had been stolen from Sonepat. They also admitted to a dacoity and robbery in Sonepat.

Man held with 40 kg of charas
The district police today recovered 40 kg of charas from a member of an inter-state gang of smugglers. One person has been booked under the NDPS Act. According to the police, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Ghaziabad received information that the notorious smuggler Bhati Maja would be transporting charas from Ghaziabad to Delhi.
