Rajiv Gandhi remembered

Chandigarh, May 21: A sarv-dharma sammelan was organised to mark toe 8th Martyrdom Day of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi here today. The sammelan was followed by devotional songs and reciting bhajans relating to all religions.

As many as 205 Chandigarh Congress workersd donated blood in a camp organised by the city unit of Mahila Congress to pay the rich tributes their beloved leader late Rajiv Gandhi. Ex-MP Pawan Kumar Bansal inaugurated the camp and announced that simial blood donation camp would be held every year on the Martyrom Day.

Glowing tributes were paid to late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his eighth martyrdom day at functions organised by the Pradesh Congress in Punjab today. Prabhat pheris and solemn prayer meeting were organised to mark the day. Punjab Congress vice-president Kewal Krishan at a meeting in the Congress headquarters here lauded the role of Rajiv Gandhi in giving voting right to the youth at the age of 18 and amending the constitution to give more powers to the panchayati raj institutions and civic bodies.
