Speaking to mediapersons at a dinner hosted by him for participants to a seminar on biotechnology in the city, late Thursday evening he said the decision of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) indicated the ``levels of intolerance'' and he was glad that he was not part of ``this vulgar loyalty.''

Maintaining that his stand on Sonia Gandhi's origins was correct, Pawar said he would still try to speak to people in the party before striking an alliance with others. He said he would be leaving for Delhi soon and that it was too early to predict the future course of action.

``We don't know what, which way will we be going. It is too early to predict. But I am a very happy and relieved man today. It was my duty as a Rashtrawadi (nationalist) to oppose a foreigner being made Prime Minister. Nobody will want a PM of foreign-origin. And I expect country-wide support on this,'' Pawar said.

A smile crossed his face as he received the news of his expulsion while hosting a dinner for participants to a seminar on bio-technology in the city. The moment the news reached him, he busied himself with telephone calls.

Pawar said he would not appeal against the decision of the CWC. ``The high command has taken a decision which shows the levels of intolerance. It reeks of vulgar loyalty and I am glad I am not part of it. I had made no mistake by frankly discussing the matter in the highest party body,'' Pawar said.
