Small investors opting out of demat shares
With the advent of dematerialised trading, the stock markets are witnessing a new, but unfortunate, phenomenon. Small investors are flocking to the odd-lot counters of brokers to sell off their small holdings and avoid going to the depository for mandatory scripless trading which improves efficiency and allow quick electronic transfers.

MSEB issue to raise Rs 500 cr
Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) is coming out with a Rs 500 crore debenture issue next month to finance its proposed investment in American energy major Enron's 2,450 MW Dabhol power project in the state.
