NEW DELHI, MAY 23: The Delhi Government has rejected the charges of the Justice Santosh Duggal committee on the school fee hike that the authorities were not cooperating with it and said that it had already spent more than Rs 35 lakh on renovation and purchase of equipment for the smooth functioning of the committee.The Government also overruled the assertion of the committee that it was made to function in the absence of proper staff, office, working facilities and relevant documents, saying that not only more than Rs 25 lakh were provided towards purchase of equipment alone, 32 staff was at the disposal of the committee.
The former judge had written to the court that the concerned officers have throughout displayed acute apathy and extreme indifference to the working of the committee, as there has been complete disinterest and disinclination to meet its requirements of staff and infrastructure.
Taking strong notice of the contents of the report, the Delhi High Court had pulled up the Government anddirected it to reply in detail to the points raised by the committee in its report.
