Statements malicious

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, May 26: Some members of the Rajinder Deepa group today stated that the Panjab University Vice-Chancellor's office issued motivated, false and malicious statements with regard to the proceedings of the Syndicate yesterday.

In a joint statement here today, Randeep Surjewala, Deepa, Ashok Goyal and Dr S.S. Hundal stated, "the PU cannot be managed in its present sorry state of affairs and the immediate intervention of the Chancellor is required."

The members pointed out that the university authorities had repeatedly forestalled decisions on important issues affecting the "academic and administrative well being of the university."

It was added that the "indefinite adjournment of the meeting by the V-C in a huff and without provocation was the final straw."
