The piece of good news to the Pillay household coincided with his travel to Mumbai to receive the `Player of the Year' award by the Sahayog Foundation of which former Indian Test cricket captain Ajit Wadekar is a member.

The news also came to Pillay as he revelled to India's cricket team's blistering show in the World Cup against Sri Lanka.
