George backtracks on safe passage
Embarrassed at the controversy generated by his statement offering safe passage to Pakistan-backed intruders in Kargil, Defence Minister George Fernandes yesterday backtracked denying he had made any such offer.

List revision rakes up infiltration issue
With the voters' list being revised in the state, the infiltration issue has revived with an apparently inflated number of new applicants awaiting inclusion in the list.

28 injured as blast rocks Delhi
A powerful bomb exploded in the heart of Chandni Chowk yesterday, injuring at least 28 persons including four policemen, who were manning a post about 10 feet from where the site of the blast. Except for one, all the victims are out of danger.
