US deplores moves to push ultras across LoC
The United States on Friday deplored any move by the Pakistani side to send Afghan or other militants across the Line of Control (LoC) into India and expressed the hope that foreign minister-level talks between the two neighbours would take place soon to defuse tension in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Nawaz Sharif government has failed to pass a resolution ``deploring the Indian military action against infiltrators in Kashmir'' in the lower house of parliament following serious differences between opposition and treasury benches over seat allocation.

Anti-Golkar protesters burned the party's flag Indonesian troops have opened fire in the capital, Jakarta, as opposition supporters clashed with those of the ruling Golkar party on the final day of campaigning before Monday's parliamentary elections. Mobs hurled rocks at Golkar supporters and set fire to vehicles.
