Crime beat -- Chandigarh

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
Two injured in mishap
Scooterist Ashwinder Singh was injured when his scooter was reportedly hit by a Tata Sumo on the road separating Sectors 34 and 44. The Tata Sumo later hit a cycle, injuring Sanjiv Kumar of Dadumajra colony. The police have registered a case.

2 held for begging
The city police arrested two persons, Kewal Nath and Ramu Nath, both residents of Faridkot, for begging. The duo was nabbed from Industrial Area.

Liquor recovered
Sector 15 resident Varinder Kumar was arrested when 12 bottles of liquor were recovered from his possession. He was arrested from the turn of Sectors 24 and 15, said police sources. A case has been registered under the Excise Act.

Trespasser held
Rakesh of Sector 25 Janta Colony was arrested for allegedly trespassing into a house in Panjab University. The police acted on the complaint of Dharam Chand of the varsity.
