PATIALA, JUNE 6: The Punjab Nurses Association has threatened to intensify its agitation in the state after June 8 if the state government failed to accept their long-pending demands. This was stated here today by Association president Jiwanpreet Kaur.She said the Association had already given a notice in this regard and would decide its future course of action after its state-level protest rally at Chandigarh on June 8. Condemning the indifferent attitude adopted by the state government, she said if the government failed to accept their demands soon, the Association would paralyse medical services in the hospitals and the government would have to bear responsibility for the same.
She said the rally of June 8 will be addressed by All India Nurses Federation general secretary G.K. Khurana, Haryana Nurses Association president Jasbir Kaur, and Lakhwinder, president of PGI nurses' body.
The Association also plans to stage a dharna in front of the office of the Director, Health Services, before the June 8 rally.
