TMC MLAs oppose tie-up with AIADMK

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHENNAI, JUNE 13: A majority of Tamil Maanila Congress MLAs, former MPs and local body office-bearers have opined against aligning with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, it is learnt.

The TMC had organised meetings for MLAs and former MPs in the morning while local body office-bearers met in the evening today. Party president G K Moopanar chaired both meetings. Former Union ministers P Chidambaram, M Arunachalam, S R Balasubramaniam and Jayanthi Natarajan, Leader of the Opposition in the Sttate Assembly S Balakrishnan, party functionaries D Sudarsanam, S G Vinayagamoorthy, S Peter Alphonse and C Gnanasekaran also participated in the meeting.

During the meetings, the views of the participants were elicited in questionnaires. The majority felt that the TMC should form an alliance without the AIADMK. The alliance should have the Congress, both the Communist parties, Puthiya Tamilagam and Muslim parties.
