During cup final, bride meets her real match

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
MUMBAI, June 20: Cricket fever made at least one the bride sick with worry as her groom preferred to watch the World Cup final rather than turn up for his wedding today.Abdul Kapoor Abdul Kalik, who was scheduled to get married at Tawane masjid at Nagpada at 5 pm, was much too preoccupied with Pakistan's tumbling wickets to make it to the masjid on time. When he failed to show up even an hour after the nikaah was scheduled to begin, the bride's relatives made a beeline for his residence, which is close to the masjid. The anxious relatives didn't know whether to feel relieved or annoyed when they found Kalik glued to the television set. When Kalik finally did arrive at the masjid with his two witnesses an hour late, he was seen keeping tabs on the score on his pager as the bride looked on in trepidation. With the wedding finally taking place, at least one young lady in cricket-crazy Mumbai met her real match!
