Mumbai's Anvekar, Balsekar in junior Indian team

Mumbai girls Deepali Anvekar and Supriya Balsekar are in the four-member Indian team for the World Junior Squash Championship to be held at Antwerp in Belgium from July 25 to August seven. The other two girls in the team are Pia Abraham and Vaidehi Reddy of Tamil Nadu, according to the Squash Racquet Association of Maharashtra (MSRA).

Interestingly, 13-year-old Joshna Chinappa of Tamil Nadu, who won the Malaysian Junior (under-15) title last month beating Pia in the semi-finals and the top seeded Malaysian player in the final, was not called for the trials held in Chennai from June 17 to 20. The coach and the manager of the team are yet to be named, the official added.

Deepali Anvekar, Supriya Balsekar (both from Mumbai), Pia Abraham and Vaidehi Reddy (both from Tamil Nadu).

Steve Waugh best

Adjudicators Sunil Gavaskar, Sir Vivian Richards and Tony Greig have judged Steve Waugh as the BPL Player of the Week for theperiod June 11 to 17.Waugh almost single handedly took Australia to the final with his epic knock of an unbeaten 120 in the Super Six match against South Africa and that classy 56 against the same opponents in the semi-final.

The Australian captain was chosen ahead of Saeed Anwar and Shane Warne who were also contenders for the award this week. The Waugh twins Mark and Steve Waugh, have won this award in the last two consecutive weeks. Steve will receive $ 500.
