SEBI bars agencies from rating promoters
The Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has barred rating agencies from rating the instruments of their promoters. These agencies have also been banned from rating securities issued by any borrower, subsidiary or associate of their promoters in case there are common board members and employees.

Diebold of US to set up software centre
Diebold Inc, the US-based automatic teller machine (ATM) manufacturer, plans to set up a software development facility in India. The company currently outsources a significant amount of software from the country through its joint venture with the Chennai-based HMA Data Systems.

Pawan Hans clears stake sale
State-owned helicopter firm Pawan Hans would be offloading 40% of its stake to any strategic investor. The board of the company has recently given its green signal for the stake sale after Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has decided against investing in the company.
