Seeded Prashant, Sayali exit

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, June 23: Fourth seed Prashant Bahatre of Nanded and Sayali Gokhale of Pune joined the list of early casualties, when both the players were knocked-out by unseeded opponents on the second day of the XII Rainbow Open junior state-level badminton championship being played at the WIE sports complex, here today.

Prashant Bahatre was in for a surprise as his unseeded rival and local lad Sameer Bhagwat fought tooth and nail, winning 15-12, 15-13 in the junior boys singles second round. Following Prashant was Sayali, who took the first game quite comfortably 11-6 against her citymate Poonam Walimbe, but was clueless as Poonam bounced back to win 11-8, 11-4 in the sub junior girls singles.
