NEW DELHI, JuneGovt warning on Kargil donations
The State government has warned people against donating funds to unauthorised persons or institutions, who are collecting money in the name of Kargil war victims. Anyone eager to contribute towards the welfare of Indian soldiers should send their cheques/drafts to the Soldier Welfare Fund, Army Central Welfare Fund, Deputy Director (C W-8) Adjutant General Branch, West Block No 3, Room No 76, R K Puram, New Delhi-110066.

All contributions made to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund between June 23 and August 15, too, will be added to the SWF. Receipts are available from the taluka mamlatdar's office.

`Gujarat No. 1'
Union Textile Minister Kashiram Rana has said that Gujarat would soon capture the top position in industrial investments in India. He was in Surat to lay the foundation stone for the regional office of Gujarat State Financial Corporation on Friday. Rana said industrialists from India as well as foreign countries were eager to set up their base in Gujarat, which offers labour, financial assistance and other infrastructural facilities. GSFC chairman Indravijaysinh Jadeja and managing director Sudeep Kumar Nanda also spoke on the occasion.

Rotary chief
Dr Sunil D'Souza, a family physician practicing in Athwalines, has been installed as the millennium president of Rotary Surat Riverside for 1999-2000. D'Souza is associated with various social service organisations in the city.

Oral coaching
Oral coaching for the foundation and intermediate courses of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (examinations to be held in December 1999) will commence from July 1, 1999. For registration and other details, contact the Surat Chapter office at B-209, Tirupati Plaza, Athwa Gage, between 4 pm and 7 pm before June 30.

Blood collected
In a blood donation camp organised jointly by the South Gujarat University and S V R Engineering College, 103 units of blood was collected on June 23.
