Khalsa Conference to contest UT seat; declares manifesto

CHANDIGARH, July 16: The Khalsa Conference, headed by Satwant Singh Anandpuri, has decided to field Gurnam Singh Sidhu as its candidate for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha constituency in the forthcoming Parliamentary polls.The party has also declared its election manifesto, whereby it has vowed to make Chandigarh not only a part of Punjab, but also a centre of Punjabiat and Punjabi culture. It will also take the issue of transfer of Chandigarh to Punjab to the streets.The Khalsa Conference has also declared to make Punjabi language compulsory in schools, colleges and other educational institutions and introducing it in various government offices.
