B.Com, BCA, PGDCA entrance test results declared

PATIALA, July 16: Results of the entrance tests for B.Com, BCA and PGDCA courses conducted by Punjabi University have been declared. Giving this information, S.L. Singla, Dean, Colleges said admissions to these courses, by the respective colleges, will be made on the basis of merit in the entrance test.

He said students shall have to submit an admission form at the college to which they seek admission. This form will be supplied by the University. The students need not buy the college prospectus for admission to these courses. The last date for the submission of forms is July 28. Information about the date of interview can be obtained from the respective colleges. This was stated in a press release issued by the University here today.

Ten complaints redressed
Ten out of 31 complaints were solved on the spot during the Sangat Darshan Programme organised at the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday. In the absence of the DC, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Gagandeep Singh listened to the complaints of the people. He instructed the officials of the different government departments to solve the remaining complaints as early as possible.

Most of the complaints addressed concerned old-age pension and the ADC directed the District Social Welfare Officer to ensure early action in this regard. One Swaran Singh of Rani Majra (Dera Bassi block) complained about the wrongful allotment of the houses constructed for the poor people of the village. The ADC instructed the Dera Bassi SDM to start an inquiry into the matter and submit the report as early as possible.

Piara Singh of village Imam Nagar (Patiala sub-division) complained about the possession of shamlat land and the District Development and Panchayat Officer was directed to take timely action on the complaint.
