Shelve telecom policy changes: President to PM
President K R Narayanan has written to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, urging him to put on hold certain modifications made to the telecom policy by the Cabinet ten days ago. The President has suggested that these changes be debated after the elections are over and a new government has taken over.

Pak admits to crossing LoC
For the first time, Pakistan has officially acknowledged the fact that its troops were ``involved'' in the Kargil crisis and crossed over the LoC. In an interview to BBC at Skardu, a few miles inside the Pakistani side of the LoC, Pakistan Army Chief Parvez Musharraf said that ``offensive action by the Indians and also attacks and actions on the LoC got us involved.''

Retired Subedar murdered
Six armed persons murdered a retired Subedar Jagjit Singh (60) and injured four of his relatives at his house at Fattudhinga village, on Wednesday evening. DSP Parambir Singh Parmar today told mediapersons that all the murderers had been identified and police was on a look out for them.
