EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
Maaz Ansari 'tricks

A hat-trick by Maaz Ansari was the highlight of ANZA's (Byculla) 5-1 triumph over St Aloysius (Bandra) in the boys under-14 4-E match of the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School football tournament at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, today.

Kevin D'Souza and Dominic Rosario were ANZA's other goal-getters. Mahindra Naik netted St Aloysius' consolation goal.

ANZA's victory was the tallest win registered on a day when most of the games were abandoned due to incessant rain. Seven of the eight matches, scheduled to be played at the Azad Maidan, and two of the three games slated to be held at the Holy Family school ground, had to be put off.

Results:

Boys U-16 2-B: Holy Name, Colaba, 3 (Jayson Thomas, Zulfikar Rizvi, Mohsin Shaikh) bt St Teresa's, Girgaum 0.

Boys U-14 3-D: St Joseph's, Wadala, drew goalless with St Michael's, Mahim.

4-D: Victoria, Mahim, 2 (Remedios Fernandes, Jason Mascarenhas) bt St Xavier's, Bhandup, 1 (Deepak Washit).

4-E: ANZA 5 (MaazAnsari 3 hat-trick, Kevin D'Souza, Dominic Rosario) bt St Aloysius 1 (Mahindra Naik).

3-A: St Xavier's, Andheri 1 (Smitesh Kambli) drew with Marol Education, Marol, 1 (Sunil Uchil).
